The challenge

We were asked to bring to life an idea for an internal initiative, which would inject a little magic into life at The Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy Europe, and encourage employee motivation and retention.

Approach

We created a slick, eye catching and effortless mechanic to run a weekly lottery style draw that employees could enter via their intranet. The winner was drawn ‘live’ during the main company team briefing. As well as engaging employees, we had to ensure the draw provided a platform to communicate key internal messages.

As with The National Lottery, employees had to register each week to be eligible for that week’s draw, thus engaging with the messages. This also allowed us to track how many people were engaged week on week, plus the type of prizes they responded to, which was useful insight for launching wider recognition and incentives.

For maximum reach, we created a ‘made for mobile’ version of the website for employees working on the shop floor and without access to a desktop computer. These employees simply entered their numbers directly from their smartphone.
