Draw have released the 2014 edition of their UK Legal Sector Digital Benchmark report, ranking the digital presence of the top 30 UK law firms by revenue.
The report analyses the digital presences of 30 of the UK’s leading law firms against criteria including: mobile optimisation, awareness, engagement, conversion, loyalty and social.
Law firms Irwin Mitchell, King & Wood Mallesons - SJ Berwin and Bird & Bird are judged to have the best online presences, with their ‘Good’ grading. However, the majority of firms, 16 out of 30, are judged to be ‘Average’ in their online offerings, with 11 firms scoring only a 'Weak' grade.
Across the sector, the report finds that many websites lack focus and that there’s little evidence of audience segmentation. Few sites are designed for ease of use on multiple devices, content is often poorly organised and that attention needs to be paid to search engine optimisation. Take up of social media is generally poor.
There’s space in this sector for early adopters and pioneers to make their mark, to use digital to create a competitive advantage.
